Marina Thomé is a visual artist and filmmaker. Her work has been presented at festivals worldwide, including BAFICI (Argentina), Krakow Film Festival (Poland), Margaret Mead Film Festival (New York), and Festival Biarritz Latin America (France). Among her works are Aquilo que eu nunca perdi (2021), released theatrically in Brazil and Portugal, and O Som dos Sinos (2017), distributed by Documentary Educational Resources (USA) and Canal Brasil (Canais Globo). She is the co‑founder of Estúdio CRUA, an award‑winning production company working at the intersection of new media and social impact. Marina holds a Master’s degree in Creative Documentary from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Communication, Art & Technology from Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo. She also studied photojournalism and storytelling at the International Center of Photography in New York. Her practice extends to teaching, having led courses in multiplatform storytelling at art institutions in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain. In 2025, she served on the jury of the IDA Documentary Awards. Her video installations have been presented in museums across Brazil, Spain, and Portugal, including the Museum of Natural History in Lisbon, Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Centre (Azores), and the Museum of the University of Alicante. She is currently developing Red Skies, a feature film scheduled for release in 2027, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Portuguese Society of Authors.
