After a brief respite last year, FEST's industry program is back, promoting a cycle of live masterclasses guided by professionals from different areas of cinema and audiovisual. With the festival dates getting closer, we start to unveil the first speakers: Tony Grisoni, and Isabel Coixet.
Grisoni is a screenwriter known for his collaborations with Terry Gilliam, starting with the cult trip film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), and continuing to this day, most recently with The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018). He's also worked extensively writing for television, penning episodes for Sean Durkin's Southcliffe (2013), Paolo Sorrentino's The Young Pope (2016), and China Miéville adaptation The City & The City (2018), for BBC 2.
Joining Tony Grisoni as a guest expert on FEST's industry program, is Isabel Coixet, and will be accompanied by an extensive retrospective of her oeuvre. Coixet is considered to be one of the pioneers of the fight for gender equality in the film industry, both internationally and on her home country, and has written & directed films such as The Bookshop (2017), The Secret Life of Words (2003), My Life Without Me (2003), among other notable works.
These filmmakers will each present a masterclass during FEST for accredited participants. Stay tuned for further speaker confirmations and masterclass announcements.
