After being kidnapped by aliens, Harijs Bērziņš, a copy shop employee, no longer feels at home in his skin. The experience seems to have changed him forever. Even ufologist Vilma, who could be of great help, doesn’t exactly elicit his trust. On top of that, he will have to deal with the fact that a grey alien mother is giving birth to their hybrid son right now. He Was Called Chaos Bērziņš playfully experiments with clichés of the classic sci-fi genre, throwing them back at the viewer tangled and new.

Kristaps is 22 and lives with his father. But their relationship is far from perfect. Every conversation turns into a fight, generally because both men are scared to be honest. Kristaps hides his sexuality, while his father doesn’t talk about his new relationship or admit the love he feels for his son. Kristaps impatient attitude becomes even more snappy when he meets Mareks, who becomes a symbol of freedom for him. Mareks’ positive attitude inspires Kristaps to change his situation, yet in the end it is disappointment that encourages him to take the first steps towards change.

Augusts is a homeless man living in a small Latvian town. But he isn't upset about it – actually, he is apparently quite happy to be a spectator of the town’s everyday scenes and immerse himself in the interesting detail he discovers on the streets. One day, though, he finds a poetry book that captures his imagination, as it reminds of his life passion – electricity. Augusts becomes more and more obsessed with the poems, until his excitement takes him to Evija – a woman who also reminds him of the electricity in a different way.

The Aeronaut wakes up one morning and realizes he has aged. From now on, his future will simply be a slightly duller reflection of his past. As a slave to his all-encompassing love for himself, he is trapped in his own memories. The End is a reflection on narcissism, midlife crisis, and masculinity. Director Karlis Vitols' film premiered in an individual screening loop at the Latvian National Museum of Arts in 2019.

After her grandmother's passing, Elina returns to the summer house of her childhood to show it to potential buyers and deal with all that is left behind. The visceral presence of her grandmother's ghost forces her to reflect on the legacy of failing familial relations and acknowledge that the relationship with her mother is starting to take a similar path. Still Life, by Latvian director Anna Ansone, examines the complexity and hidden depths of familial relationships. What happens when the necessity of being together and an inability to communicate converge?
