Synopsis:

Squirrel, a 36-year-old surgeon, is a former political prisoner. She just got out of jail and is trying to return to a quiet, invisible life in a small Belarusian town.

One day, during a routine home visit to her elderly patient, she accidentally helps a pregnant 19-year-old girl, Redhead to escape an imminent arrest by riot police. By saving her, Squirrel breaks her own restrictions and risks being imprisoned again.

With no safe options left, the two women decide to cross the green border into Poland illegally. Their only chance is a local smuggler—a shady man with a criminal past whose unpredictability may be just as dangerous as the system they are trying to escape.

Redhead and Squirrel begin as strangers who barely tolerate each other—but to get away from the repressive machine, they must learn to act as one.
