Synopsis:

Rita’s everyday life consists of a long-term relationship with Adam, raising their one-year-old daughter, and studying literature at the university. Paralyzed by the fear of her mother’s death, she begins to abuse alcohol and neglects both her partner and her child.

Her mother lives alone in a small town near Szczecin. She is a well-groomed woman, emotionally unstable, and also struggles with alcohol abuse. Rita is deeply fixated on her mother, who, in her eyes, glimmers like a movie star—unappreciated by fate and those around her. Unfortunately, as the cancer progresses, her mother moves in with Rita and her family.

The mother’s terminal illness sets off a series of unfortunate events that directly affect Rita and her loved ones. We watch our protagonist—a young mother—forced to confront the illness and death of the person closest to her. Life intertwines with death. Loss and grief ultimately reshape everything she once knew.
