Synopsis:

In season one of AMUSED! the muse of comedy curses a brainy and cynical 14-year-old girl to repeat opening night of Romeo and Juliet in a time loop until she can feel real love.

At 14, Bex is a cynical brainiac and theater techie who prefers running sound cues to dealing with people. When she’s shockingly cast as Juliet in the school play, she’s horrified. She can’t act! At the first rehearsal, she wishes her best friend Joelle, a hopeless romantic, could play the part instead. But the muse of comedy takes offense, binding Bex in a time loop: She must relive opening night until she can express real love.

Each reset throws Bex back into chaos. Desperate, she experiments with what “love” might mean, trying to connect with Vince, the awkward Romeo, or to impress her classmates. Every attempt collapses into comedic disaster, fracturing her friendships and her sanity alike.

Only after a humiliating performance does Bex realize the truth: Shane, the quiet stage manager who’s secretly in love with her, has been there for her through every fiasco. Seeing his calm, steady care, Bex stops performing love and starts giving it, helping the cast, letting go of control, and allowing herself to feel. At last, the loop breaks. She steps offstage with a genuine sense of connection and belonging.

In Season 2, fate’s mischievous magic will pass to a new student with the power to turn a tragedy into a comedy.
