Synopsis: B.A.S.E. Jumping is one of the most extreme sports there is. B.A.S.E. is acronym for: Building; Antenna; Span and Earth. An athlete must have a minimum of 150-200 parachute jumps in order to make his first jump from these locations. Only then, with sufficient reserve of patience, they learn the details of the art of jumping from more experienced jumpers. This sport does not tolerate mistakes. During the last year, 39 athletes died. Despite that, there is more and more enthusiasts of this sport and Karel Bejšovec is no exception.

This village still suffers impositions from the ecological reserve which, almost, criminalizes Canoe-crafting today.

Synopsis: Eight-year-old Tilda’s memories of her family as surrealistic visions come into life: the circus member ex-mermaid grandmother, the erotically overheated mother and the disappeared father whose broken heart, anger and jealousy manifest as a rhino. The acts of present and the past are in constant metamorphoses and transformation. The characters overstep their own and the surrounding world’s physical borders. Tilda’s life is full of grotesque, bizarre characters hungry for love. The atmosphere of wistfulness, desire, passion and sorrow frame the story.

Synopsis: Where does bullying come from? A teenage girl named Karen lives with her alcoholic and abusive mother. Karen brings anger with her to school and reflects her anger towards another girl, Lovisa. This then effects Lovisa emotionally and she brings it back home with her. Instead of continuing the cycle, Lovisa's mother ends it by comforting her.

Synopsis: "The emigrants” is a story about the issues of a Romanian family. The mother has gone abroad to work and raise money when the girl was little, a common thing in Romania lately due to economical, political and social changes the country has been going through since 1989. On a trip to Bucharest, father and daughter talk about the problems between the parents and the effects they had on the girl. In the end, both find out unknown things they would not have expected.

Synopsis: When Babu's father passes away, he is caught in a web of age-old rituals and social formalities. As he looks for opportunities to cope with the loss of his father, death ends up being just another mundane routine for Babu.

Synopsis: This project was developed through the painting "A Primavera", from 1482, by the Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli. Having said this, I focused on the themes presented in the work that interested me the most: the metamorphosis in the moving image; move and characterize the figures and the use of certain symbols that may or may not relate to the picture.

Biography: Born in Amqui (Quebec, Canada), Jean-Guillaume Bastien completed his studies in Film Production at Concordia University in Montreal. His last short films were shown in many international film festivals: LES DIMANCHES (TIFF, IndieLisboa'12, Internationales Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg), DÉJÀ-VU (L.A. Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival), JE NE SUIS PAS UN GRAND ACTEUR (Milano Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival) and more recently RUBY PLEINE DE MARDE (Short Films People's Choice Award - Focus QC/Canada at Festival du nouveau cinéma, DC Shorts Film Festival). Synopsis: The TV program “VHS Stories” receives some old tapes which were found inside an abandoned convent. These tapes date back to 1992 and show two guys in their 20s experiencing paranormal phenomena. The reasons behind their mysterious disappearance are what the mockumentary “The Location Scouting” tries to find out through a film-making style reminiscent of the late 90s and found footage movies like “The Blair Witch Project”.

Synopsis: Debra and her girlfriend Alma have just moved in to the small and quiet suburbs. Now, they hope to start over away from violence and persecution, but Debra soon realizes there's something weird happening in the streets at night.

Synopsis: A boy and a girl find themselves on opposite sides of the same subway station everyday. With trains going by regularly, how will they meet each other?

Synopsis: A lonely walk home is intertwined with an underwater fantasy world. The combination between reality and fantasy is portrayed in a love letter addressed to an imaginary perfect man.

Synopsis: Orhan, who works in a small embroidery workshop in one of the low-income districts of Istanbul, finds himself in a conflictive situation at work which eventually forces him to confront himself.

Synopsis: A single father tells a good night story to his son and tries to warn him about the dangers of the internet, but will this story be real or fictional?

Synopsis: AMOR shows, in a number of fragmentary scenes, moments of a day in the lives of a group of teenage girls in the outskirts of a big city in the Netherlands. In a contemplative style the short film outlines the lack of love in their daily lives, in its broadest sense. Not only does the film focusses on the cold relations between the group and their environment but also explores the relationships within the group itself.

Synopsis: First in first out (FIFO) is a shelving technique used in supermarkets. Stephan must place the freshest products behind the oldest ones. Products nearing their sell-by date must be destroyed. When going to the bins in the basement, Stephan will have to face those who could still benefit from them, but who are excluded by the system. He will also have to confront who he was before getting a job.

Synopsis: A girl crosses the street, anonymous among the crowds. And among those who pass, it motivates the most human impulses of astonishment. They are processed in the minds of those people, prejudices, conventions, any and all cultural influence of the human being that impels the pure and simple act of looking.

Synopsis: Allegorical action comedy about Toni, who dreams of becoming a pilot in the air force. His application has been rejected because of his height and near-sightedness. Toni will not give up, but performs a stunning and unique demonstration at the air force base.

Synopsis: 102-year-old Elvira says she can fly thanks to her magic bowl and she uses it to travel to El Hierro, an island where she was born. In the evenings, she talks about it to her granddaughter, who tries to piece their family history out of the woman's memories. Adriana then realizes it is not the magical world of her grandmother's stories. Still, she tries to understand why her grandmother never returned to the place, where she was raised.

Synopsis: Clara, a ­woman who on her 60th birthday decides to leave her husband Benjamin, a retired military man, goes to meet the dawn adrift of her violent past.

Synopsis: On a Sunday afternoon, migrant worker Anne and her husband leave their five-year-old daughter in Kampung Tapir (Tapir Village), Malaysia. On the way to Singapore, the bus they're on hit a wild Malayan tapir which wanted to cross the road, but no one is eager to save it. In the struggling of choosing a country to settle down, Anne finds out that she is like this endangered species, still drifting places to find their own better life.

The strip was tortured, scratched, punctured, erased, colored, and animated: an exploration on the volatility of the film medium, as if it was itself a cigarette and one could smoke it all the way.
