Synopsis: MATER is an allegory meant to express the trauma of lost motherhood. A young woman is being given an egg by a salesgirl. Even though the woman looks scared, the salesgirl greets her like an old friend and when she hands her the egg, the woman accepts it. Once she has brought the egg home with her, she feels suffocated and isolates herself in the memory of her lost pregnancies.
