The workers at the Spermatheca are struggling with their motivation, and when Pontius makes an unusual discovery, everyday life at the station begins to shift. All the while, department head Morten is daydreaming about far away.

Silje Baer (b. 1999) is a director based in Oslo. Her debut film, Johan Prytz (2023), was nominated for Best Norwegian Short Film at BIFF in 2024. Her short film Spermateket (2025) is currently shortlisted for the Norwegian Amanda Prize and won the Grand Prix at The International Film Festival of Music & Cinema Marseille 2026. She has also written and directed the short films Witch (2024), selected for Nordisk Panorama and Lapinlahti International Short Film Festival, Potato (2025) and Vervet (2025), produced in Hisham Zaman’s directing workshop.
Her work often researches an outsider perspective, loneliness and the relation between individual and society. She is currently developing her first feature and starting a Master at the Norwegian Film School.
Baer is also an experienced producer with a background from Férdi Film where she produced a number of award-winning short films including Offline (2023) by Mauritz Brekke Solberg & Daniel Fure Schwarz, and Pirateland (2025) by Stavros Petropoulos.
