Jury Statement

The jury has decided to award a Special Mention to the feature film Truly Naked, directed by Muriel d’Ansembourg, for the courage and sensitivity with which it addresses one of the most disturbing issues of our time: violence, particularly sexual violence among young people, and the growing confusion between intimacy and pornography.
Without artifice or romanticization, the film follows a young couple through the difficult discovery of intimacy, while refusing any aestheticization of violence. For the importance of its subject matter and the honesty of its approach, the jury has chosen to honour this work with a Special Mention.
