Jury Statement

There's a story being told, but what truly draws us in and captivates are the characters and their togetherness. It's a film about moments, it's a film about the strength of the here and now. There's no need to linger nor to explain as the characters and their bond do the talking. The film talks about the hardships of growing up, but what it mostly does is supply us with a beautiful ode to humanity, tackled with a very imaginative, vibrant, precise and tender gaze. You are not alone, there's still hope. That's what the film is trying to tell us and that in itself is a very worthy statement to embrace.
