After a couple of successful short films, Miguel Faus set out to make his first feature, CALLADITA. The project was getting attention, but nobody wanted to finance it, with every door shutting in his face. Instead of giving up, Faus crashed through a window: he launched an NFT crowdfunding campaign and raised over $750,000 from a community of supporters around the world.

CALLADITA went on to receive a finishing grant from Steven Soderbergh, premiere at Tallinn Black Nights, reach #1 on Netflix Spain, and earn a Goya Award nomination for Best New Director. This session will look into finding alternative paths, challenging conventional wisdom, and making your first feature on your own terms.
