International star Shu Qi is an actress and director. She has won two Golden Horse Awards and three Hong Kong Film Awards among many other awards.
She was a jury member of the 58th Berlin International Film Festival, the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival and the 80th Venice International Film Festival. She was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion
Picture Arts and Sciences in 2024.
Shu Qi has collaborated with filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien on three films: Millennium Mambo, Three Times and The Assassin. She has also played leading roles in a number of art films and box office blockbusters, including Stephen Chow's Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons, Jiang Wen's Gone With the Bullets, Wuershan’s Mojin: The Lost Legend and Chen Yu-Hsun’s The Village of No Return.
In 2025, Shu Qi starred in Bi Gan’s Resurrection, which won the special jury prize of the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Her directorial debut, Girl, is selected for Competition of 82nd Venice Film Festival.
