Woman at War
First Sessions

Halla, a woman in her forties, declares war on the local aluminum industry before it destroys her homeland. She risks everything she has to protect Iceland's highlands - and that includes committing major acts of ecoterrorism. Meanwhile, in her normal life, she is the director of a community choir. As if reconciling her two different personas was not hard enough, Halla receives a letter that says an adoption request she made four years ago has finally been approved: a little girl from Ukraine is waiting for her. Icelandic director Benedikt Erlingsson creates an engaging drama punctuated with eccentric comedy.
