Film Selection 2024

FEST 2024 will celebrate 20 years of showcasing the best new cinema, exhibiting over 200 films from June 24th to July 1st. This special anniversary will be reflected in various ways throughout the festival. The film program will feature references to the event’s history, including new works by filmmakers who were selected in previous editions or projects that took their first steps in our Pitching Forum. While the competitive programs may not be entirely centered around this theme, they will still maintain a connection to it.

The Exhibition Calendar, with information on each screening and film, will be revealed in the next few days.

NATIONAL GRAND PRIX

The National Grand Prix is the oldest of all of FEST’s competitions. Since the genesis of the event it has taken a center stage position, and in this 20th anniversary it is assuming an even greater importance.

BE KIND REWIND

Fully focused on new films by filmmakers previously in our radar, Be Kind Rewind gathers an impressive list of new films, which include the controversial portrait of the Nakba that the state of Israel is trying to ban, “Farha”, and new films by Kevin Biele, Emi Buchwald and Joanna Nelson, among many others

ECOS

As usual, the ECOS section will showcase the wide variety of views among the new generation, in 7 short fim thematic programs that cover new comedic and genre cinema; Post-colonial experiences; the hardships of being woman in contemporary society; and the spiritual and human challenges in these troubled days we are living in.

FESTinha

Originally a set of children movies, FESTinha has been one of the most expanding sections of our event, opening the reach and audience of the festival.
