Ricardo Ferreira comes from Matosinhos, Porto, and graduated in architecture.

His love of 3D took him to London where he studied Special Effects. As soon as he graduated he was called by several London production companies and, since then, he collaborates in numerous big productions.  

He has already worked as a digital composer in films such as John Carter (2012), by Andrew Stanton, Frankenweenie (2012), by Tim Burton, Dredd (2012), by Pete Travis and Gravity, by Alfonso Cuarón.

Recently, he was part of the Double Negative team – one of the biggest suppliers of visual effects to films -  that won the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Visual Effects, with Ex Machina (2016).

He then proceeded to work in X-Men: Apocalipse (2016), Suicide Squad (2016) and, most recently, Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Ricardo Ferreira is one of the only two portuguese artists to be certified in Nuke, a VFX software.
