Mark Appleby began his career in the sound post-production area in the beginning of 2004, when he joined Goldcrest to assist in ADR and Foley sessions.

Some time and a significant amount of knowledge later, Mark became a mix technician. He later moved to be the mix technician and ADR assistant of Paul Carr, who retired in 2007, time when Appleby took over as ADR mixer and started to work in some of his greatest projects.

Mark has already over 130 credits, having worked with directors like George Lucas, in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), Tim Burton, in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) or Danny Boyle, in T2 Trainspotting (2017). And in all sorts of genres, from animation, in films like Winnie the Pooh (2011), passing through big drama classics, like The Iron Lady (2011) and V for Vendetta (2005), and ending in great action films, like X-Men: First Class (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011).

He also worked for multiple times with the directors Matthew Vaughn, in the double production Kingsman, and Edgar Wright, in The World's End (2013) and Baby Driver (2017), which received a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Motion Pictures, by the Cinema Audio Society.
