This past May, FEST FILM LAB organized a "Film Title Design" workshop with industry veterans Richard Morrison and Dean Wares. Together, they work at THE MORRISON STUDIO, where they produce title credits for films and television series such as RUN (HBO), PATRICK MELROSE (SHOWTIME), as well as having previously worked with renowned directors like Tim Burton (BATMAN) and Terry Gilliam (BRAZIL).
During the workshop, 10 participants from all over the globe — joining the online workshop from Montana, USA, all the way over to Malta, in Europe — were challenged to develop and conceptualize a visual idea for the title credits of a potential TV series: DEAD SKIN, about a man who wakes up in the body of his killer. Afterwards, Richard and Dean would select one of these ideas to be turned into an animated mock-up.
Filled with great inspiration, the participants got to work immediately. You can check how their ideas developed below.

The results are a great of example of the creative process, and how much diversity can spring forth from the same seed of an idea. In the end, Richard and Dean picked Katja Clos' concept to be turned into an animated mock-up for DEAD SKIN's pilot episode.
