On June 24th, as part of our Training Ground, the 5th edition of the Sound & Music Hub will take place at the Auditório de Música de Espinho.

In this special edition, we are delighted to welcome an exceptional line-up of international talent in sound and music for cinema. Academy Award-winning sound mixer John Warhurst (Bohemian RhapsodyOscar Winner; Les Misérables; Michael), Oscar- and BAFTA-winning supervising sound editor Nina Hartstone (Bohemian RhapsodyOscar Winner; Gravity; Wuthering Heights), and BAFTA, BIFA and RTS award-winning composer Harry Escott (Shame; Ali & Ava; Shifty) will all be present.

These names will be part of a full line-up of speakers for the Training Ground Masterclasses, which will be announced in the coming weeks. Whether you're a seasoned professional or an emerging talent, FEST is your platform to grow, gain insights, and explore new opportunities — all in the informal, sun-soaked seaside town of Espinho, Portugal.

The Sound & Music Hub is the meeting place for sound and music professionals in cinema. It is designed for music professionals, directors, producers, sound designers, and composers working in film and television, and consists of several sessions focused exclusively on sound and music in cinema. The programme includes a series of masterclasses and case studies presented by leading professionals in film music composition, music supervision, editing, and sound mixing.

Harry Escott is a composer with a rich history of creative collaboration across the arts. A BAFTA, BIFA and RTS award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist, he is known for his scores for films by Michael Winterbottom, Steve McQueen, and Clio Barnard. His work includes Hard Candy, Shifty, Steve McQueen’s Shame, as well as several films for Michael Winterbottom, including A Mighty Heart, The Road to Guantanamo, and, most recently, Greed.

Nina Hartstone is an Oscar-winning supervising sound editor, recognised for her work on Gravity and Bohemian Rhapsody. More recently, she served as Supervising Dialogue/ADR Editor on Wuthering Heights (2026).

John Warhurst is an Academy Award-winning Music and Sound Supervisor specialising in musical and music-driven films. He supervised the soundtracks for Bohemian Rhapsody and Les Misérables, and has recently completed work on the Michael Jackson biopic Michael.
