Tagline:

In SELA we are always in between: the rugged terrains of love and the comforting plains of friendship.

Synopsis:

Saura, Filipe, João, Beatriz, Rita, and Marchana have a language of their own, shaped by the growing pains of childhood and the uncertainties of adult life. SELA captures a moment of change within this close-knit group, as Saura and Filipe—once deeply connected—begin to drift apart. As they try to understand what remains between them, their unique love language—somewhere between Spanish and Portuguese—begins to shift.

The group feels the tension. While they reunite for a summer in Arles, old habits return, but something sits just under the surface. Beatriz quietly contends with an unexpected pregnancy with João. SELA follows these two couples—one moving toward an ending, the other facing a beginning. Their paths differ, but their doubts overlap: about love, about distance, about growing older. Between them, friendship holds steady. Not always spoken, but felt.

SELA is a portrait of a generation caught between longing and belonging, between the rugged terrains of love and the comforting plains of friendship.
