In 1954, there was a UFO sighting over Florence’s municipal stadium, during a Fiorentina match. Seventy years later, aliens return to planet Earth and find the stadiums abandoned.
José Magro is a Portuguese film director whose films have been selected for and awarded at film festivals all over the world, including Tampere, Oberhausen, Vienna Shorts, São Paulo, Guadalajara, Dokufest, Uppsala, Sevilla, Filmfest Dresden, and many more.
His last film Nha Sunhu (2021) was a candidate to the European Film Awards. He has worked with many distinguished Portuguese directors, namely Manoel de Oliveira, João Pedro Rodrigues, João Rui Guerra da Mata, João Nicolau and Miguel Gonçalves Mendes, and was one of the selected filmmakers for the Berlinale Talents program 2020.
He founded the production house Pântano and is currently developing his first feature film.
