In the 1970's, a beloved children's program host working for the Estado Novo, the Portuguese dictatorship, finds himself forced to make the most difficult decision of his life: assassinate a colleague live on air or lose his father's approval.
Rafael Sá Carneiro & João Severo

Rafael Sá Carneiro (born in 2002, in Lisbon, Portugal) is a film director, screenwriter, and performer. Recently graduated in Film and Media Arts from the Lusófona University in Lisbon, he explores different artistic languages, from cinema to performance, from drawing to music, always guided by the desire to tell deeply human stories. He wrote and directed Évora (2023); wrote and co-directed the series Pena Negra (2024); co-directed A Hora do Chico! (2025); and directed the short documentary As Portas da Percepção (2025). His work values collaboration based on humanity, humility, and respect, believing that the essence of any creative project lies in the ability to feel, share, and connect with others.

João Severo (born in 2003, in Batalha, Portugal) is a film director and screenwriter. He studied Cinema at the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Porto and graduated in Film and Media Arts from the Lusófona University in Lisbon. He wrote and directed Entrelinhas (2023); wrote and co-directed the series Pena Negra (2024); co-directed A Hora do Chico! (2025); and is currently directing Há Estranhos na Mirra (2026). His work intersects Portuguese cultural identity with genres such as thriller, satire, and dark comedy, aiming to subvert conventions and find humanity within the absurd. He views cinema as an act of sharing, where every member of the team contributes their voice to create a collective story.
