Gonçalo Loureiro

Director

Gonçalo Loureiro was born in 1992 in Viseu, Portugal. He obtained his Degree in Cinema and Audiovisual at the School of Oporto in 2013. At the age of 20 he directed «O Filho da Mãe», shot in 35mm. After finishing the Master in Sound and Image in Cinema and Audiovisual at the Catholic University of Oporto, he directed «Marasmus», a tour of creative force, praised by critics in film festivals.

 

Yaoting Zhang

Producer

A graduate of the China Film Archive, Yaoting Zhang previously served as programmer for Shanghai International Film Festival, Beijing International Film Festival and Broadway Cinematheque MOMA (Beijing, China). Since 2018, she has worked as the acquisition and production manager of world sales and production company Rediance, participating in productions such as Grand Tour (Miguel Gomes, Cannes), The Breaking Ice (Anthony Chen, Cannes Un Certain Regard), The Human Surge 3 (Eduardo Williams, Locarno), She Sat There Like All Ordinary Ones (Qu Youjia, Berlinale Generation) and Silent Friend (Ildikó Enyedi, in post-production). Now based in Lisbon, she has served as a jury member for IFFR Tiger Short Competition, REC Tarragona International Film Festival’s Primer Test WIP lab and FEST New Directors New Films Festival’s Pitching Forum.

 

Pedro Souto

MOTELX Director and Programmer

He is one of the founders of MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, where he has served as director and programmer since its inception in 2007. He holds a degree in Film from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema). His academic and professional background includes working as producer and cinematographer on several short films, and he was also associate producer of the award-winning feature film The First Summer (O Primeiro Verão). He has participated in major international film markets and various film festivals, where he has also served as a jury member. He is currently the Secretary General of the Méliès International Festivals Federation, an institution with over 30 years of history that organizes the annual Méliès d’Or competition for the best European feature and short films.
