In her debut feature film, Marianna Brennand won the Best Director award at Giornate degli Autori. Manas explores, with remarkable sensitivity, issues of female abuse and exploitation in an incisive and courageous way, through the story of a young girl lost in an Amazonian community ruled by gender-based violence. A fictional narrative, yet one that hits painfully close to reality.
