Entre o Mar e a Ilha is a search, an autobiographical archaeology, an essay on the relationship between an island son and his father and the sea. There is a father (a fisherman) who “does not exist” on the island and who momentarily reveals himself in the sea. There is a boat, built by this fisherman, which in the past and at sea was the meeting point with his son, and which in the present sails in the middle of the island. And there are endless layers, thoughts and memories in this space-time “between” this sea and this island.
