Collective Exhibition “Faço filmes na minha cabeça” (Multimeios)

Guest artist exhibitions

Espinho's 8th International Art Biennale

Curator by: Ana Pais Oliveira

Multimeios Espinho

This exhibition brings together a group of ten guest artists who will be able to draw on this connection to cinema and its interaction with an emerging and modern fight for mental health, placing art in an irreplaceable position to keep us moved by astonishment, enthusiasm and the unpredictable. Art is the vehicle for the individuality of the Human Being, for convincing us that what we think and are familiar with is not the limit, and for us not to die of the truth, as Nietzsche said. Between the visual arts and cinema, places of escape, thought and pause - to stop and watch, feel slowly and think - can create opportunities for day-to-day de-stressing, emotion and even salvation. Issues such as social isolation, memory, cultural constructions and historical narratives, autobiographical and fictional visual universes, motion, the architectural organisation of cities, drawing as freedom of building, or the free gesture in a state of suspense and feeling, are all present in the proposals of these guest artists.
