For the selection of fiction, the intention was to integrate some more popular options, such as "A Gentle Night" by Yang Qiu, winner of the Palme d'Or in the Cannes competition of 2017, and some more unforeseen, let's call them wonders yet to be discovered, such as Bernhard Wenger's "Excuse Me, I'm Looking For the Ping-Pong Room and My Girlfriend".

Silver Lynx | Documentary
Within the documentary format, we kept our interest in hybrid and experimental cinema, visible in shorts like "El Manguito" by Laurentia Genske and "Black Dog" by Tomas Faiman. In the same way, we looked for movies that showed more humor and energy, such as "Connection" by Horizoe Garcia Miranda and "Euphoria" by Natalia Pietsch.

Silver Lynx | Experimental
In a genre more difficult to objectively define, we have sought to integrate various techniques and aesthetics of what is the experimental. Including Sarah Friedland's "Home Exercises", a film of unique vision about movement, and Elinor Nechemya's "Everlasting Mom", seemingly a simple narrative but full of subliminal messages.

Portuguese Grand Prix
In one of the most recent sections of FEST - New Directors | New Films Festival, only 2 years old, we once again turn the spotlights to national productions.
To more popular short films, such as "Fidalga" by Flávio Ferreira, the much talked about participant of several festivals in the international circuit, or "Delphine Imprisoned" by Ricardo Pinto de Magalhães, winner of the last edition of Curtas Vila do Conde.
But also to the not-so-obvious options, of filmmakers who are taking their first steps or who embark on a more experimental path, something increasingly common within the national discourse that we try to cultivate. Like "The Voyager" by João Gonzalez, who will be playing the soundtrack live during the film exhibition.
