This week we highlighted two feature films and one documentary, which will only premiere at Cinema Ideal (in Portugal) and is directed by Martin Scorsese and David Redeschi.

Hidden Figures, Theodore Melfi (USA)

Synopsis: HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)-brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Moonlight, Barry Jenkins (USA)

Synopsis: The tender, heartbreaking story of a young man's struggle to find himself, told across three defining chapters in his life as he experiences the ecstasy, pain, and beauty of falling in love, while grappling with his own sexuality.

The 50 Year Argument, Martin Scorsese and David Redeschi (USA, United Kingdom and Japan)

Synopsis: THE 50 YEAR ARGUMENT profiles the provocative and influential publication The New York Review of Books and its charismatic and indefatigable founding editor, Robert Silvers, who, along with his co-editor, Barbara Epstein (who passed away in 2006), has guided the Review since its launch over a half-century ago.
