The submission process kicks off with the Early Bird period, offering discounted fees until October 13th, 2024. This is your chance to join one of the most vibrant showcases of emerging talent in the world of cinema and episodic storytelling.
What's New in FEST 2025?
While FEST has long been a haven for groundbreaking films, the 2025 edition will place a greater emphasis on series, expanding from the smaller showcases of episodic productions in recent years. However, films will still dominate the program, maintaining their prominent role at the heart of the festival.
Submission Categories
We’re accepting submissions in the following categories:
- Feature Films: First and second features, including fiction and documentary.
- Short Films: Fiction, documentary, experimental, and animation from directors who haven’t released more than two feature films.
- Series: One episode from new, unreleased series created by directors who haven’t produced more than two feature films.
Key Dates & Deadlines
Submissions are open from September 13th, 2024, to February 24th, 2025. Here’s a breakdown of deadlines and fees:

Note: Portuguese-majority productions are exempt from submission fees.
