Maria João Rosa has been a journalist and anchor for TVI since 2003 and CNN Portugal since 2021. She specialized in cinema, for which she studied History and Aesthetics of Cinema at IADE, along with a degree in Social Communication from Universidade Católica. She presented and produced Cinebox, TVI24's movie magazine, between 2009 and 2019, alongside Vítor Moura. She regularly covered the world's biggest film festivals and the Oscars ceremony, which for more than 15 years was broadcast exclusively by TVI in Portugal. Since 2009, she has done dozens of interviews with some of the biggest international film directors and stars, from big Hollywood productions to independent cinema and, of course, Portuguese cinema. In 2019 she became one of the anchors of TVI24's newspapers and in 2020 she presented the lifestyle magazine then broadcast on TVI24, New in Town, a collaboration with the digital magazine NiT. In 2021 and 2022 she was part of the Arts & Lifestyle department in the joint TVI /CNN Portugal newsroom. She was also one of the news anchors for Diário da Manhã and Esta Manhã on TVI. Since 2023, she has regularly done large and medium-sized reports for the TVI Reporter segment of Jornal Nacional and also for the investigative journalism segment Exclusivo.
