Cinematographers must increasingly be prepared to work with VFX and similar digital environments such as Virtual Production. Increasingly these tools will become more standard in independent, small film production, therefore it is imperative for, not only producers and directors, but also cinematographers to better grasp the specifications of this. In this session Michal Luka will show his work with these tools, and how he better achieves his results.

Nominee to the Sophia Awards of the Portuguese Film Academy, Bruno Carnide is an independent portuguese director and founding director of Leiria Film Fest – International Short Film Festival.

Carnide directed several fiction, documentary and animation short films, which won dozen awards and have been exhibited in hundreds film Festivals around the world, including Oscar Qualifying Festivals.
He is also a lecturer in the field of cinema at Polytechnic of Leiria and Instituto Superior Miguel Torga.
As a freelancer, Bruno Carnide has directed hundreds of corporate and commercial videos for companies such as Google, RTP, Volkswagen, Ford, MTV, Nickelodeon or Schweppes. He is occasionally judged at international film festivals.

Michał Łuka is an experienced director of photography for both commercial and cinematic projects. He specializes in advanced cinematography techniques for CGI and VFX productions.

Michał worked on Netflix’s animated miniseries The Liberator (dir. Grzegorz Jonkajtys), created using the new and unique Trioscope technique. He shot the feature drama Prime Time (dir. Jakub Piątek), which premiered during World Cinema Dramatic competition at the Sundance Film Festival 2021. ITTEFAQ (dir. Abhay Chopra) and the feature-length documentary, Call me Tony received important distinctions.
