Melanie Oliver - FEST PRO Masterclass
22 JUN // 15:30 // Auditorium Centro Multimeios Espinho
Film Industry Role: Film Editor;
Major Works: Les Misérables (2012) and The Danish Girl (2014);
In this session Melanie will approach how she edits film musicals and how hard they are to cut, with a very different set of constraints. Using the example of “Judy”, Melanie will show how the editors' work can be overlooked in these type of films, but still have a tremendous work that comes from clever "editors heart!". She will also approach how an editor can be decisive in a small budget film, even more than in a big budget film.
"Judy" is a 2019 Rupert Goold movie about the legendary performer Judy Garland, starred by René Zellweger, who won an Oscar for the performance.
Moderator: Teresa Queirós
