Synopsis
Shot primarily at the FEST Film Festival 2018, La Belle Noise is an experimental documentary about actors and acting. In particular, the film follows Colin as he prepares for the role of a sleazeball producer, and Dennis, who will play ancient monster Cthulhu. Meanwhile, various actors and other filmmakers reflect upon their desire to be involved in film, as well as their relationship with love. As the film blurs the distinction between fiction and documentary, so it blurs the distinction between signal and noise, suggesting that there is beauty to be found in those aspects of cinema that typically we discard or overlook.
