Synopsis

Almost 10 years after its release, FEST suggests a look back into the famous work by Miguel Gonçalves Mendes about Portuguese superstar writer José Saramago, this time around in a cut never before seen in public, and created exclusively as the Portuguese submissions for the Oscars. The Nobel winner returns to the centre stage in a documentary where he confronts his relationship with his wife, Pilar Del Rio, with Portugal and the rest of world, with his trademark confidence and wisdom that set him apart all his life.
