Synopsis

In a replica of a segment of the new Gotthard Tunnel in Switzerland, the underground landscape becomes a site for filmic and sensory experimentation in which we are immersed for a hypnotic and ironic journey. Facts dissolve within the realm of phobias and science fiction. Swiss filmmaker Ian Purnell latest work takes us on an underground voyage exploring our fears, emotions, and lack of knowledge of underground tunnels and all its ramifications. This visually stunning film premiered in Visions du Reel, and went on to be exhibited in prestigious events such as Go Short Nijmegen and Ann Arbor Film Festival.
