Synopsis
The powerful call of the humpback whale fills our oceans in a way our species will never understand. A Voice Above Nature explores the surface of the seas in a way never seen before, to reveal a not-so-silent-killer. Through the voice of a whale guide, biologist and captain, we hear about the whales, and then feel the problem. The noise pollution we are creating in our oceans and forcing upon these animals. Can we respect the silence they need to survive? Annie Moir raises important questions in a poetic and visually stunning fashion while exploring the nature of sound and silence with the accuracy and precision of a surgeon and the emotional attachment of an environmentalist.
