Synopsis
After bullies steal his son’s lunch-box, a retired wrestler goes on a violent rampage to avenge him and bring justice to the school. Those more in tune with the Portuguese film tradition will not recognize any of the elements in Fernando Alle’s cult film, which not only
broke all the conventions of filmmaking in this part of the world, but also created a genre and myth all of its own. Papa Wrestling made Alle and his gang the figureheads of a new way of thinking film and engraved their names in the imaginary of many young film lovers. It is time to revisit their first foray into the festival world.
