Synopsis

Touko Laaksonen, a decorated officer, returns home after a harrowing and heroic experience serving his country in world war 2, but life in Finland during peacetime proves equally distressing. He finds refuge in his liberating art, specializing in homoerotic drawings free of inhibitions, becoming the emblem of a generation of men and fanning the flames of a gay revolution. The opening of the event with Tom of Finland, one of the most talked about films of the moment in Europe, marks the return of director Dome Karukoski, after having won at fest in 2009 with Home of the Dark Butterflies.
