Synopsis
The Stranger tells us the story of a reclusive English artist who spent a great part of his life living as an hermit in a cave on the island of Inibofin. Using several filmmaking techniques, such as animation, archive material and reconstructions based on diaries and notebooks found after the artists death, the film takes us on an unforgettable inner journey. This documentary, one of the most successful and innovative in recent years, is the latest work by Irish fi lmmaker Ní Chianáin, who first caught our attention with her controversial documentary Fairytale of Kathmandu.
