Synopsis

Philosophers such as Nietzsche, De Saussure, Wittgenstein, and Derrida have pointed to the complicated relationship between language, matter, knowledge, meaning, and truth. In their view language is anthropomorphic. Therefore knowledge, meaning, and truth, which are driven by language, are not innate to objects and phenomena but created by Man. As a result, humans are only capable of perceiving a world that is in accordance with their self-made systematisation.
