Gaspar Noé is an Argentinian filmmaker based in Paris, France. In the early 1990s, Noé alongside his wife Lucile Hadžihalilović co-founded a production company called Les Cinémas de la Zone. In his films, that he normally also writes, he addresses themes such as sex, violence and revenge. His most well-known work is the film Irréversible (2002) starred by Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassel, which features a rape scene of approximately nine minutes, that shocked many viewers, including at the Cannes Film Festival. He has directed several other films such as I Stand Alone (1998), Enter the Void (2009), Love (2015), Climax (2018), Lux Æterna (2019) and Vortex (2021).
