Miguel has a degree in Law and copyright. Served as a jury member for Cork International Film Festival (Ireland), Uppsala Short Film Festival (Sweden), Arcipelago – Festival Internazionale di Cortometraggi (Italy), Brest Short Film Festival (France) and Panorama Internacional de Cinema (Brazil), among others. Has been a member of the permanent evaluation committee at ICA - the portuguese film institute - and for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Taught Screenwriting at CAM (Gulbenkian) and the Fine Artes Faculty (CIEAM) as well as Copyright at Restart.
