Jo Monteiro is a casting director for international film, TV series, and commercials based in Portugal. Based in Lisbon for the last 25 years, Jo Monteiro is being fully working as Casting Director for the last 10 years, having the chance to be part of international film productions, TV series, and commercials.
She was the casting director for the first Portuguese production for Netflix, Glória, and is known for major productions like Santiago (Opto) and, recently, Lost in Fuseta: Ein Krimi aus Portugal 1 (Das Erste).

From 1992 to 1996, Jo attended Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), getting a degree in Film Studies, where she learned from acclaimed directors, such as Luc Dardenne and Ettore Scola. Before being a casting director, she worked as an assistant director for more than 10 years. This position taught her to have a global vision of casting, from studio to set.
