Franziska Margarete Hoenisch was born in 1984, the daughter of a potter and a forester. She grew up in a small town in Voreifel, Germany. She did several internships in the field of arts and culture to find her way: the Cape Town Opera, the Goethe Institute in Prague and the Arte TV channel in Strasbourg. He studied cultural sciences and aesthetics at the University of Hildesheim and photography at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He then studied directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and La Fémis in Paris. Here she made her short film Aussi loin, which toured several international festivals. Franziska graduated in 2017 with her first feature Club Europe, which won several awards and traveled to Mexico, the USA, Singapore, France, Spain, Portugal and Hungary. She is currently working on three new feature films.
