Submit a Project

Our Early Bird call for projects for the FEST — Pitching Forum (8 — 9 OCT 2021) is now open and will close on the 21st of June 2021!

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

FEST — Pitching Forum is looking for film projects in the following categories:

  • FEATURE GEMS — Fiction, documentary and animation feature films (min. runtime of 55 minutes) in early stages of development;
  • WORK IN PROGRESS — Fiction, documentary and animation feature films (min. runtime of 55 minutes) in advanced production stages;
  • MAKE IT SHORT — Fiction, documentary and animation short films (max. runtime of 55 minutes) in both early and advanced production stages.

The projects can be of all genres and filmmaking techniques, including experimental films.

The event is open to both experienced and emerging artists. There is no age limitation.

The production stages are defined as follows:

  • Early development — project concept, script phase or pre-production;
  • Advanced development — ready for shooting, editing or post-production.

The main selection criteria will be the artistic merit of the project, its estimated potential of success, as well as its capacity to attract the necessary funding.

 

APPLICATION FEES AND DEADLINES

Application fees and deadlines are as follows:

  • Early Bird (50€) — June 21st;
  • Regular Fee (60€) — July 23rd;
  • Late Fee (80€) — July 30th.

Applications will only be considered complete upon payment of the mentioned fee.

Partner Schools Students can benefit from a discount on the application fee. For more information about partner schools please email us to partnerships@fest.pt.

The final deadline for submissions is the 30th of July 2021, at 12:00 (UTC).

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Create an account on FEST's Visitor Page provided by Eventival;
  2. Choose the 'Pitching Forum Applications form' on the left menu (please be careful not to choose any of the film submissions forms instead - those are for completed films only);
  3. Fill in the above mentioned and proceed with the respective payment.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All materials must be in English. Alongside the obligatory information, we strongly encourage the applicants to upload additional materials like a business plan, visual book/mood board or professional portfolio.

We highly recommend reading the Rules and Regulations before submitting a project.
