FILMS SUBMISSIONS FOR FEST 2023 WILL OPEN ON THE 15TH OF September 2023

The 19th edition of FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival is underway and it will take place from the 19th to the 26th of June 2023.

We start the path to FEST#19 with the call for films. 

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are accepting films under the following formats:

  1. A) Fiction and non-fiction feature films (minimum length is 55 minutes) from directors who are on their first or second feature-length project, regardless of age.
  2. B) Fiction, Documentary, Animation, and Experimental Short films (up to 54 minutes of duration) from directors who have completed no more than two feature films, regardless of age.

All the submissions, except for Portuguese films, are subjected to a submission fee of:

Early bird Period (up to the 16th of October 2022) 6€ for Short Films | 10€ for Feature Films

Normal deadline (up to the 9th of March 2023) 8€ for short Films | 12€ for Feature Films

Extended deadline (up to the 19th of March 2023) 12€ for short Films | 16€ for Feature Films

 

Submissions will only be considered complete upon payment of the mentioned fee.

Exceptions:

- Portuguese Productions - free of charge

- Partner School Students - free of charge | For more information about partner schools please email us to students@fest.pt

The final deadline for submissions is the 9th of March 2023, at midnight (GMT)

Portuguese Filmmakers or anyone submitting a Portuguese majority production should always select Portuguese film category when filling the form)
