Joe Walker started at in the BBC’s films department as a sound editor. He progressively become closer with picture editing, and worked on several TV shows for the British TV channel, including "Jonathan Creek" and "The Lakes".

Throughout the years, Joe has collaborated in several films and became a reference in the editing world, who is a frequent collaborator of some of today’s most acclaimed directors, such as Steve McQueen, for whom Walker edited "Hunger" (2008), "Shame" (2011), for which he won the award for Best Editor at the European Film Academy, and "12 Years a Slave" (2013) for which he was nominated for an Oscar as well as a BAFTA.

In 2015 Joe Walker was awarded the Satellite Award for Best Editor for his work on the film "Sicario" (2015) – a film that also marks the beginning of his work relationship with Denis Villeneuve: Walker is the editor of "Story of Your Life" (currently in post-production) and is also rumored to be partnering with the director for the much anticipated "Blade Runner" sequel.
