FEST introduced in 2019 the Director’s Hub, a new platform to further expand networking opportunities and create a meaningful exchange of knowledge, tailored for filmmakers and other industry professionals, available only with a FEST PRO badge.
For the 16th edition of FEST, in view of the current reality, and with the safety and health of our participants and guests being our top priority, the Director’s Hub was postponed to next year, since we considered that the necessary conditions for the usual and ideal functioning were not met.
The main goal of FEST is and will continue to be, to create a learning and networking space that everyone can enjoy, but as close physical contact is necessary for that, in good conscience we chose to postpone and, alternatively, decided to present during the year, and in an online format, new initiatives to create this space for discussion and exchange of knowledge.
The Program tackles a scope of issues concerning film directing through a series of debates, roundtable discussions, and case studies focused on the director’s role, tasks, relationships, expectations, obstacles, and challenges they have to face, both locally and internationally.
Last year's edition featured directors like André Gil Mata, Miguel Gonçalves Mendes, Jack Turits, Antoine Russbach, Aga Woszcynska, and Sahad Ameen.
