Will Files and Mark Ulano confirmed on Sound and Music Hub

On the 24th and 25th of June, a special two-day event will enlarge the 18ª edition of FEST - New Directors, New Films Festival. Sound and Music Hub will be hosted by FEST and Sound Particles, with the support and sponsorship of Academia de Música de Espinho and Festival International Music e Cinema Marseille.

We have confirmed a few experts on the Sound Departments of great and awarded movies. The first ones to be announced are Will Files, Sound Designer and Supervising sound editor. "Stranger Things" "Venom" and the most recent “Batman” movie and Mark Ulano - Sound mixer with a 25-year collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, being an Oscar Nominee for his work in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and "Inglourious Basterds”.

Will Files
As a sound supervisor, sound designer, and re-recording mixer, Will Files has contributed to more than 100 films and TV shows, including such Hollywood blockbusters as the brand new The Batman, The Invisible Man, Venom, Halloween, War for the Planet of the Apes, Passengers, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Star Trek Into Darkness, Thor: The Dark World, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and Cloverfield, in addition to the much-loved show Stranger Things, which gave him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series. He has also contributed to highly regarded independent films Honey Boy, Midnight Special, Mud and Take Shelter. In 2007, the Hollywood Reporter named Files one of the industry’s “brightest and most talented 35-and-under artisans”.

Mark Ulano
Mark Ulano has a 25-year collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, being an Oscar Nominee for his work in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Inglourious Basterds. Won an Oscar for Best Sound with Titanic. Faculty Maine Media Workshops for 20 years, teaching film sound through intensive, week-long workshops. Fluent in ASL, American sign language. A published author on early film sound history and antique gramophone and phonograph collecting.
