Culturgest and Cinema Trindade welcome FEST '21 extensions
24.09.2021

FEST's 17th edition starts 4th of October, in Espinho. However, just like last year, the festival expands its program throughout Portugal, with extensions in Porto and Lisbon, exhibiting films in Cinema Trindade and Culturgest.

These extensions will focus on FEST's Be Kind Rewind section, a retrospective dedicated to the cinema of catalan filmmaker Isabel Coixet, exhibiting, among others, the films The Bookshop (2017), Endless Night (2015), Learning to Drive (2014), Yesterday Never Ends (2013), Elegy (2008), The Secret Life of Words (2005), My Life Without Me (2003); as well as the short No Es Tan Fria Siberia (2016).

Starting October 7th to the 10th, Cinema Trindade will screen the retrospective; from October 9th to the 16th, Isabel Coixet's films will be showing in Lisbon, at Culturgest.

Isabel Coixet is considered to be one of the pioneers of the fight for gender equality in the film industry, both internationally and on her home country. She is also one of the founders and Honorary President of EWA - European Woman's Audiovisual Network. The existential conflicts of our times are almost always the focus of her cinema.

The director will also be present in both places to introduce a very special session of her films. Don't miss out on this unique chance to get to know one of the great Iberian filmmakers.

Please consult Culturgest's website, here, for more details and ticket info. Schedule for Cinema Trindade will be available soon.
